What is the Diplomatic Dictionary?

The Diplomatic Dictionary is a collabora-tive attempt to create a dictionary of terminology used in diplomacy and international relations. We aim to make a resource that reflects the different national, cultural, religious and professional backgrounds of participants in international affairs. We are not looking for authoritative definitions which can be found in a standard dictionary, but for a variety of perspectives from which users can derive knowledge to suit their needs.

If we have a sufficient number of contributions we will publish a print version of the Diplomatic Dictionary each year.

How can you contribute?

We invite you to be a part of this project. Please suggest a diplomatic term and define it based on your experience or research. All contributions which are not already in the dictionary and are of appropriate quality will be included. We reserve the right to edit contributions for English language.
